Our question is framed within the State’s ambitious electrification goals and the funding sources currently available to Green Communities like Maynard.

Some of the challenges we hope to touch on:

● Differences from the ‘traditional’ design process

● Investing in the net-zero building envelope

● New HVAC systems—training maintenance staff vs contracting maintenance

● Framing & communicating upfront cost vs lifetime savings

● Managing obligations to federal grant funding sources with limited municipal staff

● When is planning & developing a microgrid (including geothermal) cost-effective?

● Solar—is owning it practical or are other kinds of contracts cost effective?

● Responsible carbon accounting

● Pitfalls to avoid?

● How do we measure success?
