Webinar: Basic Rights of Utility Consumers (Zoom)
Thursday, February 1511:00 AM—12:00 PMOnline
The National Consumer Law Center will not only provide a primer of basic rights of utility consumers but also suggest resources and services that public librarians can recommend to help low income households protect their utility services. The presentation will:
- Cover the basic rules for obtaining utility services in Massachusetts.
- Review protections customers can use to maintain and/or restore utility service (i.e. seasonal, serious illness, infant, and elder protections.)
- Outline resources available to pay utility bills (i.e. Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), utility offered payment plans, etc.)
Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance - the panel will try to incorporate these into the presentation.
