“To put your hands in a river is to feel the chords that bind the earth together.” Take a journey from the glacial period that shaped this watershed to what we can do now to restore the natural resilience of our rivers.

Alison Field-Juma is the Executive Director of OARS, the non-profit watershed organization for the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers based in West Concord with over 1,200 members. She has guided OARS’ work to rebuild the health of the three rivers through science-based advocacy, education, stewardship and recreation since 2010. Alison is Vice-Chair of the SuAsCo Wild & Scenic River Stewardship Council, serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Steering Committee of the 495/MetroWest Partnership, is the Chair of the Aquatic Invasives Management Subcommittee of the SuAsCo Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA), and represents OARS on other state and regional advisory boards. Alison holds an MSc in Natural Resource Policy and Planning from Cornell University, a BSc in Biology from Tufts University, and is Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness certified.
