Maynard Book Festival Workshop: The Streets Where They Lived

Saturday, April 1110:30 AM—12:00 PMTrustees RoomMaynard Public Library77 Nason St, Maynard, MA, 01754

Beloved art teacher Sharon Santillo returns to Maynard to lead this special workshop.

Using collage and a mix of art materials, we will build small accordion books (4” x 6”) celebrating the streets where our families have lived. We will use some of the book pages in our accordion books to list factual places and dates that are known, record little family stories passed down about these places, and end with your personal story of choice and chance, why you live where you do, whether it be close or far from home.

Participants need not bring anything to the workshop, but are optionally invited to bring photocopies of family photos, both people and places, to cut up and incorporate into their collages. Our mini books will vary in length, and can be added on to easily after the workshop.

Join us and create a keepsake of your family’s places they called home.

Preference is given to residents of Maynard through March 31. Non-resident registrations will be approved in the order they are received beginning April 1.

Registration for this event has now closed.
