Community in Bloom-Felted Flowers Kits for Adults and Teens
Monday, July 20All DayTake and Make KitsMaynard Public Library77 Nason St, Maynard, MA, 01754

Ages 12 and up.
Learn to create needle felted flowers for our “Community in Bloom” floral project. Needle felting uses loose wool and a barbed needle to "weave" fibers together into shapes. It is easy to learn, so no prior felting experience is required. Please note that the needles used in this project are extremely sharp! This kit is not appropriate for children under 12 (see below).
Register to reserve a kit and then craft along on your own schedule to a pre-recorded video made by Pop Up Art School. All materials will be provided, but you will need a pair of scissors. The video will be available until August 4.
There will be a children's class (ages 8+) on Saturday, August 8 to make felted butterflies. If you'd like to make a flower with other felters, please register for our Watch & Craft program on Thursday, July 16 at the library.
Note: Flowers created in this class will be incorporated into a large mural that will be showcased at the library. Your flower should be returned to the library by August 17, but you will leave the class with the tools and skills needed to create another felted flower to keep.
Registration opens Monday, June 22 at 9:00 am. Maynard residents will be approved for kits for the first week of registration; all others will be approved in order of registration starting June 29.
