Community in Bloom-Felted Flowers for Adults and Teens Watch & Craft

Thursday, July 166:30—8:30 PMRoosevelt RoomMaynard Public Library77 Nason St, Maynard, MA, 01754

Ages 12 and up.

Learn to create needle felted flowers for our “Community in Bloom” floral project. Needle felting uses loose wool and a barbed needle to "weave" fibers together into shapes. It is easy to learn, so no prior felting experience is required. Please note that the needles used in this project are extremely sharp! This program is not appropriate for children under 12 (see below).

We will craft along to a pre-recorded video made by Pop Up Art School. All materials will be provided, but if you can bring a pair of scissors, that would be helpful. Your kit(s) will be available the night of the program--you do not need to register for a separate kit.

There will be a children's class (ages 8+) on Saturday, August 8 to make felted butterflies (LINK). If you'd like to make a flower on your own schedule, please register for our Take & Make kit starting Monday, July 6 LINK.

Note: Flowers created in this class will be incorporated into a large mural that will be showcased at the library. Your flower will be left at the library, but you will leave the class with the tools and skills needed to create another felted flower to keep.

Registration opens Thursday, July 2 at 9:00 am. Maynard residents will be approved for kits for the first week of registration; all others will be approved in order of registration starting July 9.
