Ages 8+
Learn to create needle felted butterflies for our “Community in Bloom” garden project. Needle felting uses loose wool and a barbed needle to "weave" fibers together into shapes. It is easy to learn, so no prior felting experience is required. Please note that the needles used in this project are extremely sharp! This program uses cookie cutters to minimize the possibility of stabbing a finger. It is not appropriate for children under 8.
Note: Butterflies created in this class will be incorporated into a large garden mural that will be showcased at the library. Your butterfly will be left at the library, but you will leave the class with the tools and skills needed to create another felted butterfly to keep.
Registration opens Monday, July 25 at 9:00 am. Maynard residents will be approved for the class for the first week of registration; all others will be approved in order of registration starting August 1.
