Seth Irwin is an internationally accredited paper conservator that specializes in the restoration and conservation of paper-based artwork and cultural objects. This public talk will focus on an introduction to the field of art conservation and the preservation of paper-based artwork as well as some basic practices for preserving paper-based family heirlooms. The talk will also show a project preserving and restoring a recently donated original 1875 Beers Map of Maynard that will be on permanent display on the second floor of the Maynard Public Library.
