Feet are the same around the world, but what we wear can be so different! Learn why with a virtual tour of the Bata Shoe Museum! As the only museum in North America dedicated to footwear (located in Toronto, Canada), the BSM showcases 4,500 years of history and nearly 15,000 artifacts in its collection. So put on your comfiest or fanciest shoes and join us (a virtual program in which you don't have to wear shoes at all!)
On your tour with one of their knowledgeable and friendly docents, you will experience four different exhibitions including:
- All About Shoes: Footwear Through the Ages
- In Bloom: Flowers and Footwear
- Dressed To Impress: Footwear and Consumerism in the 1980s
- Exhibit A: Investigating Crime and Footwear
Along the way, you’ll also learn about the museum’s fascinating architecture and the special designs incorporated to spotlight footwear. For example, did you know that the museum is designed in the shape of a shoebox? So, sit back and travel the world at your feet with the Bata Shoe Museum.
Please register for this event and you'll receive the link in the confirmation and reminder emails - make sure to check your spam folder for them, the email will be coming from ashlandprograms@minlib.net.
